It's Wear Your Apron Day!

Did you know that today is Wear Your Apron Day? I learned about it from one of my favorite blogs, The Apronista. Yes, The Apronista, as in fashionista but with cooler prints and more cleanliness. More values could be argued, too, but I don't feel like going there, so I won't.

Media_http3stairscomw_tybde

So how do you celebrate? Easy: wear your apron all day long. Wear your favorite one, or the one passed down to you from your grandmother. Maybe it'll be the one you made from a tea towel. Or the vintage one you found on eBay. It doesn't matter as long as you wear your apron.

I'll be wearing my favorite apron. It's one I found on eBay in my favorite cut and the cutest fabric. It's a goldenrod orange-yellow with bees all over it and green plaid binding. I'll try to get a picture of it to post for you all. This picture from Wikimedia Commons shows the style of it:

Ok, who said that? Did I actually just hear you say you don't have an apron?? How have you made it to this point in your life without an apron??? Never mind. We'll fix it. I have a box full of vintage aprons literally right here behind me.

***Prize Alert!***
I'll send an apron to one of you poor, deprived waifs that have suffered through life without an apron so you'll be ready to celebrate next year. Wear Your Apron Day is always the Monday after Mother's Day, so be sure to mark your 2010 calendar now.

First of all I want to say you look adorable!! I love your smile and you have the most gorgeous hair! Now, on to the apron. Believe it or not, I DON'T HAVE AN APRON! Isn't that silly? That would be the reason I would want an apron is to actually own one. I've been doing lots of cooking lately and have gotten tons of foodstuff on my clothes, so an apron would come in handy. What kind? I have no idea. I guess a full apron?!?You're the best!

How funny! I didn't know it was National Apron Day but I have been obsessing about buying some all day! I have this idyllic dream of becoming a semi-retro housewife :) I like the full 50s style.

Hi thereI would love an apron with pockets. Most of mine don't have pockets, so i fold the apron up from the bottom and sew - thus creating pockets!

I need a new apron just because my current one is getting old. I prefer a heavy-duty full length apron with at least one big pocket!

I would love an apron! I have never really had one and have been intrigued lately by all of the fun, adorable aprons available now days (not just the good ole stand by "kiss the cook" ones). I prefer a full apron, but love them all

Ok so this is the saddest part lol. I don't even have an apron. I have the a great laugh when i spill stuff lol. Yet lets just say I wasnt very happy when I happened to get a little red velvet cake on my favorite jeans. So an apron all together would be great. Thanks for the chance to win.

I would love to win a fabulous vintage apron! I have actually been searching for a cute apron, because being the fashionista that I am and also an avid cook, I'm aghast at myself for not having something cute to whip up pies in. I love the fabulous flair of half aprons, but since I have the tendency to get covered in flour, I think a full apron would be the wisest choice. Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!

And I put your button in my sidebar here:http://contest-corner.blogspot.com/One thing I should note, when I copied your button code, instead of bringing up the 3 Stairs button, it brought up the Friday Fill-In button. But, erm, I have a button of some sort, anyway! If you have a different one that you'd rather I'd use, I'd be happy to change it. :) Thanks again for a wonderful giveaway!

Hello, It would be fun to have an apron of mine to pass down through the generations. I have a few family aprons from my paternal grandmother, two aunts and my mom! Aprons are such a wonderful family heirloom and they are made to be worn.My dad ( who is 91 ), tells me how his mom used to wear an apron daily. One of her apron's uses was to hold the baby chicks when it started to rain. Please enter my name in your fabulous apron giveaway drawing. I tend to like a full apron, but the ones I own are half aprons. Many thanks, Cindi

I would like to win an apron because I actually don't have one! I'm a newlywed who is now cooking full time for myself and my husband, rather than eating out as much as I did when single. I need something to keep my clothes from getting the brunt of my clumsiness when it comes to sauces, juice, etc!I really like half aprons, but sometimes, full aprons can be quite cute, so it just depends on the design!sarahbcrawford(at)gmail(Dot)com

I would love to have an apron. My grandmother used to wear them all the time in the kitchen and they remind me of her. I would definetely use the apron when I cook

I'd love to have a fun/cute apron. I remember my mom having an apron that was sort of a shirt that I liked wearing when I was a kid. I'd love a full apron.

Serena said...

I love all aprons. I do have a soft spot for cobbler's aprons, but find that I need more length when I'm cooking or baking, since I'm quite messy! I love the style that you posted. I had one like that as a work apron (in a sewing machine shop) and it covered every bit of me. It was wonderful.

Crystal said...

Thanks for the tip-off! The coding over on the side bar is corrected (I believe) so you can just copy and paste what's over there now. Please let me know if it still doesn't work!

Miranda Johnson said...

I don't know what style to choose considering I don't even have an apron. I'll take any if I win.

I really want and need an apron because I think they are adorable looking. Plus I tend to get something on my clothing a lot of times when I'm cooking and this would save what little clothes I do have. I love full size aprons the most. Thank you!

I do not know much about aprons but I would certainly love to win one. I would love to give it as a gift to my sister because she loves to bake and I think she would look cute wearing something vintage like the ones above or anything cute for that matter. She is married with 5 boys and is like Susie Homemaker. lol. She would love this.
